A friend in Buena Vista CO said if ever in Creede CO don’t pass by Big Doug’s BBQ! Well fellow pitmasters I’m here to report that the brisket sammy I had today was the best I ever had! I know that ain’t sayin’ much from a brisket-noob from Florida who has only had brisket a handful a times, but that brisket was juicy, smokey, and burstin’ with flavor! Now I see why y’all rave bout brisket! I met Big Doug and he proudly showed me his “Southern Pride” smoker. He smokes all night “low n slow” and is open 11-3 or till he runs out! If you find yourself anywhere near Creede CO don’t miss Big Doug’s BBQ!

We’re back at Big Doug’s! Had “The Chief” today. Raspberry chipotle brisket sandwich with coleslaw, oh boy that was out of this world! Right next to it is a bakery, picked up carrot cake and a almond cinnamon bun!

We ate at Big Doug's last month while camping near Creede. It was fantastic. Definitely of the quality for a meatup group meal. Wife said it was the best turkey she ever ate. We tried it all, brisket,ribs and pulled pork. Next time I'll try the beef.Comment

We made it back to Big Doug’s in Creed CO for the last day of the season! I got the Brisket sammy with rasberry chipotle sauce 😛 Joanne got the 2 Meat plate, Brisket & Turkey and two sides. 😛 We got some to go for the ride back to Florida! One pound brisket and one pound of ribs…… that’s some good road food! Of course we will also stop at milem arker 200 on I-40 in Oklahoma: Catfish Roundup!
