2 years ago, at the height of the pandemic, I posted about the best barbecue on the west coast, ZEF BBQ. I know that it's not a very high bar, but I actually prefer his brisket over Franklin's BBQ in Austin. It's AT LEAST up to par.
It looks as though Logan has finally gained enough clientele and capital to open a proper restaurant. Initial listing on Google suggests that he will be open Tuesday through Saturday. Build permits are slow going, but I cannot wait to see how this plays out. I have come to Simi valley too many times just missing the Saturday morning window and the chance to get some of my favorite brisket. Every time that I have the opportunity to buy some of his brisket, Logan is always there. Every time I yell out, "I LOVE YOU LOGAN!", and from behind the pit I always hear, "I LOVE YOU MORE!". The brisket is usually gone before I start the car.
The address is 2315 Keuhner Dr, where the old El Torito used to be. I know this building well. I brought my father-in-law here to drop the news that I was going to marry his daughter. I was sad to see it go, but I now see that it was all for the best!
