I got an email and Thermoworks has begun their site-wide sale! Is this 18 % good, or do they get even better closer to Dec 25th?

Well, ThermoWorks is always having a sale. Some better than others. My only suggestion is never buy something not on sale, because it will likely be on sale tomorrow. They make excellent products, I have several of their things. I just think their sales are a bit exhausting.

From what little I saw on the website the price for one of their products is the same as the price I see in their latest catalog. The 18% appears to apply only if you buy 5 or more. I didn't look at all of their products but buying only one of the items I saw gets you the regular price. I suspect the prices will get better as Christmas gets closer. Whatever, they still have good products and customer service.

Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker 22"

wu7y So, the price in the catalog for a Signals with Wifi and bluetooth is $187.78 ? I'm not saying you are wrong, I am just asking as I do not have a catalog to compare.

Porkies, My catalog is the 2020 holiday gift ideas. It's the only one I have. Price there for the Signals 4ch wifi/bt alarm is $229. Sale price on the website is $211/ea for 2 or more, otherwise it's $229. I don't see anything on the website re: Signals for $187.78. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. That's all the info I have.

I am not sure if I would buy thermoworks again. It is all I own, 4 different units, plus their billows. I am tired of their leads. Their instant reads have never failed me.Last edited by Richard Chrz; November 19, 2020, 10:38 PM.

I treat mine really well, and I go through more of them then I think anyone should, even if abused. They always send me one when I say something, but, I feel 3-5 probes a year is not quality.
-
I had a lot of problems with their probes and I didn’t (and still don’t) think I was doing anything wrong. I did change how I clean them. I use to run them under a faucet to clean them. I stopped doing that and just use their cleaning wipes. Haven’t had a problem since.
I find their probes are extremely susceptible to water. More so than the Weber ones I used for years prior. Also had an issue with their software for their Signals, it was terrible. They did a major redesign and fixed it all.
-
Razor, yeah, I only use their wipes, and they get hung up over a nail in my garage, so they don't even get rolled up. I have the probe port on all of my grills. I still go through them to much, at least that is my opinion. Thank you for sharing your tips.

I just picked up the Signals unit today because of the sale. I had been waiting to see it for 20-25% off, but decided in the end that I didn't want to wait any longer just to save another 12 bucks. And since it was sitewide, I also picked up a few other accessories (silicone pads, etc). So, I think it all panned out for me. I had been debating between the Fireboard 2 Drive and Signals for a while now. I definitely think Fireboard has a more elegant and robust interface (even after Thermoworks' app update), but the durability and ruggedness of all my other Thermoworks items made me lean toward Signals. Plus, I don't think the company is going anywhere any time soon. And parts replacements/longevity were a key factor for me. I also own a Rock's BBQ Stoker from way back when (still use it/still going strong). But since the company is no more, parts support is no where to be found; when the Stoker starts to go, that's it. Not saying that Fireboard is going anywhere; In fact, I really hope they continue to succeed and push the competition (like Thermoworks) to improve their offerings.Last edited by insurroundsound; November 19, 2020, 11:07 PM.

ThermoWorks us an online only business. As such, when they have a sale, or just reduce prices, the only way for them to get the word out is by emailing subscribers. Let's face it. folks subscribe with hopes that they are chosen as a winner in the weekly drawing for free Thermopen. That's the bait that TW uses to compile a list of folks to advertise to.
If you want to succeed in business, there are some basic rules to follow: Early to bed, early to rise, work like hell, and advertise!

You don't believe in the "try before you buy" model? Very few platforms these days are requiring people to commit before showing a prospective subscriber that their services can offer value, or are what the subscriber is actually looking for.Originally posted by Porkies View PostTrial member ? The 18% off applies as you put something in your cart then view your cart. I purchased a Smoke to send to a friend who just bought his first smoker and that's what I found.
