Wish I had gone that route to start with, but hey, my plastic attachment was a gift from an employee, so I won't complain.

Me too, although my plastic one has held up perfectly fine, I just know it will break one day whereas the metal likely won't.

Razor , the Kitchen Aid brand is made from aluminum and is not dishwasher safe. From the reviews, people who put it in the dishwasher reported getting gray streaks on their meat.

The one klflowers linked us to is stainless steel and can be sanitized.

Hard to choose between knowing the Kitchen Aid unit (aluminum) will for sure be compatible vs. a stainless steel attachment from another manufacturer.

I missed the deal but put both in my cart and will wait to see how the pricing goes. Good thing I'm not in a hurry since I have the Kitchen Aid plastic model already.
