Shorter cooks optional, here's my latest manually controlled cook with a target range of 225-275 degrees. Less than a full chimney of KBB stayed above 225 for 5.5 hrs with an avg of right about 250.
I was also experimenting with the exhaust vent above the coals. For 2-zone this is supposed to be closed but I found if you crack it open just a hair the temp will increase 1 degree per minute. Instead of fiddling I'll just do that when a boost is needed.

I have to commend PK customer service. I had an ash roof warp on me last week.
I contacted PK in a PM on Facebook.
Sent the PM at 11:00 at night, and had a reply at 0500 next morning asking for an email with my home address. 2 days later here is the ash door.
