NEW Competition Series Probes From FireBoard

Fireboard just announced some new offerings to go with their temperature monitoring devices.

The Competition Probe Series was inspired by feedback from their competition teams. The probes feature a smaller diameter, giving them a faster response time. They are also shorter in length, making them ideal for monitoring in tight spaces or smaller pieces of meat. Available in two sizes, you'll be able to precisely monitor everything from pork shoulders to small chicken thighs.

Check them out here: Show me the new probes

I never understood the gargantuan food probes from any manufacturer. The one with my Grid Iron could measure a first down.

These should be useful for temping ribs.

        I’m Already on it.
I gotta check out the diameter of the body. It appears to be much smaller. Which is why I "need" them.
Was about to drill larger holes in my kettle and LSG to accommodate their probes.
This is a great thing. And WTH. It’s only money. 😁😬😮

Plus, they're straight, not with a 90° bend in it.

Be sure to check that your Fireboard can use the new thermistor probes. Earlier units (like mine) cannot. There's a probe compatibility checker on the comp series probe pages.

Good point. Mine can't use thermistor probes either.

I'd like to shorter wires - I only need 2.5' probe wires. The long ones just get in the way...

Just shorten them with a small zip tie or even a twist tie.

Coil up and zip/twist tie what you don't need.

Thanx guys, but that's still a pain. I just want shorter wires.

Well hell, I just bought two new probes Thursday. Now I have to return those when they get here and get a couple of these instead

I was going to make a similar statement myself, and seen this as the first one . I use my "air" probes in meat more often than the long meat probes .

Thanks Paul! I wish more would follow suit but I guess most people think they need ski poles for meat probes.

"Competition Series Probes" I guess we know what their target market is because we all know competition temps are different than regular temps!

Gotta love marketing, Imagine using it on ALL NATURAL chicken, as opposed to semi-natural.

                  I think they're Wagyu probes.
