Prime Time at The Fresh Market

We have one of these stores very close to us, and we go there often - they've got a massive meat dept that takes up 2/3 of the length of the back of the store. Prices aren't as competitive as a Sam's or Costco, but I've got a great relationship with all the butchers there which makes up for a lot. Anyway, in the past finding prime cuts there was hit or miss and often tied to big holidays and required ordering ahead. Got an email from them the other day that states they're now going to make prime cuts available daily for many things, looks like its time to head back...

There's one about 15 min from us. We go there occasionally. I was in there a while back when they were having a beef sale. They carry what they call something like top choice, and they looked better than their prime - cheaper too. I bought two filets and they turned out to be some of the best we have had. I will be going back...

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check the meat counter, as there is a Fresh Market about 2 miles from the house. I've only bought ground chuck there, as they have chuck and organic boneless skinless chicken breasts on sale for $2.99 a pound every Tuesday.

No one has tri-tip in Alabama, ever. I always look. It's just not something you see east of the Mississippi I am starting to think.

Yep, I think its a Cali thing. It was readily available when I lived in San Diego.
