    Charcoal sale

Not sure if this is the big Bi-Annual sale, but Home Depot and Lowe's have the 2-pack 18.6lb bags of Kingsford (blue) for $12.88. Four day sale.

The big sales used to have them at $9.99, so I don't know if those days are over or if this is just an early sale.

    Thanx.

My local Lowe's had a sale price about a week before one of the big holiday's (I think 4th of July) then for the holiday week the price was dropped again to the 9.99 sale price...I went back a price matched the purchase I made the week before once the second price drop was done...

Thanks for the info. I stocked up pretty heavily during the last $9.99 sale last year, so I should be good until at least Memorial Day. But I'm always on the lookout for deals.

Both stores ran this sale early spring last year. Then, in addition to their usual Memorial Day and Labor Day sales for $9.99, both stores ran the $9.99 sale the week of Father's Day and the week of the 4th.

Yeah, I still have three bags, so no dire need. I think I'll just wait for the Memorial Day sale and re-stock then.

Three bags? That qualifies as a critical shortage at my house!

I saw an Instagram post recently that Walmart has a sale on the 15lb bags for $7.88. Technically that would be about 24% cheaper per pound of charcoal.

Yes I picked up 3 2 packs of the 15 lb bags for $7.88 each today. 😊

              90 lbs = $24. 👍🏻

Thanks for the deal. I will probably pickup a two pack just to help build up stock while there, but will wait and hope for the 9.99 deal in May to do a massive restocking of my charcoal pile.

I've actually got a buddy who just got a Performer wanting me to go in and buy a 55 gallon drum and build a charcoal retort, and make our own charcoal. He has a friend with a tree service that he thinks he can get all the free hardwood he wants from, in order to make his own free charcoal. I'll do anything once, but am somewhat doubtful of home made lump charcoal cooking as consistently as what I get with briquets....

Jon Solberg makes his own lump charcoal. He claims it's really easy to do and it produces good results when used.

No that I'm stocked up on Kingsford Professional I'm hoping to run into a Weber charcoal sale.

You can get a 20 pound bag of Weber for $12 at Lowe's. I just purchased 2 bags the other day.

Thanks. Pretty low for Weber, but still twice the price of the Kingsford Pro.

Perfect! I'm down to just one bag of KBB.

BJ's Wholesale Club has a clipless coupon for Kingsford Pro $17.99 through 4-25 too.

I think Costco has the Kingsford Professional 2-pack on sale for $13-16, something like that.

$13. Without even consulting my wife grabbed a 2-pack for me today.

Lowes is also offering free lighter fluid when you purchase the twin pack of KBB.

The checkout person was kind enough to point this out to me, but I told them I make my own with cotton balls and paraffin.
