I really came close to buying the 36" version of this or the Camp Chef. I'm really happy with my Camp Chef camp stove and separate griddles. The flexibility of a stove or griddles has come in very handy! That's a good price too!

Often thought about these. Do they get hot enough to sear a steak and how’s the temperature control?

I have the 36". If you let it get screaming hot, make sure the steak is dry and lightly coat with oil, it'll brown nicely. Used it to reverse sear steaks a bunch...

Yes but with the Blackstone you will have a more steadier temp control plus more cooking space.

The Arteflame takes time. I love mine but it's different than an instant griddle. Better in some ways, inferior in others.

Make sure to check the cook top, Mine had holes in it. It was quickly replaced, but make sure to check it.
