Nice find! I like Smithfield because I feel like I get more for my money by not having to trim as much. I sometimes don't need to trim at all.

I agree. The tray pack butts the local stores sell have way more fat cap than a Smithfield. And when one store puts the butts on sale for $0.98/lb, they cut the butts in half and limit 2 per family.

So, I got 4 butts - 29.37 pounds total and paid $29.08. There is a limit of 2 per person here, so I may go back again and get a couple of more before the sale ends. I've never seen them at that price and I'll guarantee you won't see that price this summer.

Not that I'm trying to encourage hording of meat, but I have found that those limits per person on stuff like that are rarely enforced. At least in my experience.
