Apologies people, for being late this week, Work has been insane this past sprint.
Well, Mothers Day is behind us, and Memorial Day is roaring in!
This is why work has been so crazy. I work for Lowe's, in IT, and Memorial Day is our biggest sales weekend of the year! So that means flurries of activity, and triple extra oversight and security on everything. It also mean lock down on all crucial systems, all systems that the crucial systems might look at, and any other systems that might touch the systems that the crucial systems and their friends might also touch. It's crazy time, but we're guaranteeing that all our stores and online platforms will be fully ready, locked and loaded when the springtime mayhem hits.
Overall, it's been good for me at Lowe's. The pay and benefits are adequate, and there are interesting perks. My employee discount swells to 20% a few times a year, and occasionally there are contests or auctions. I'm currently up to my a** in Kingsford BB briquettes. I won a pallet of them in an auction, and i estimate I have maybe 700 pounds left. What to do with them? Wait, I know.
Anyway, the specials are decent this week, with barbecue as a soft focus, but they can't help but reflect rising prices lately.
