My favorite is still the oldest one in my toolbox, the ChefAlarm. It’s wired, but it has two important attributes: it is simple to use, and it is accurate. The magnet allows me to stick it to the front of the stove, and the alarm is easy to set and loud. It’s the one I reach for first.

I don’t care about Internet connectivity, or apps, or graphs, or displays. I want to know when the food is done.

Me too! It's so reliable, inside cooking in the oven or outdoor on the grill. I'm down to one and I really need a backup. Guess I'll wait for next sale though.

I have one of those as well. Perfect for a quick setup.

I’ve given a few away…along with the DOT. Now THAT one is simple. I give those to people that are a bit more “challenged” to get them comfortable with using a leave in thermometer.

Bought my daughter and SIL the 2 probe RFX starter kit. A really good deal.

I actually picked up another Node for the chest freezer in the garage. Already had one on the side-by-side fridge freezer out there, but the leads were a little too short to reach between the two units. Not going to lose a whole freezer full of beef (again!)

dpearce great idea! Do those give you a phone notification if the temp rises or goes above a set threshold? Last summer, I had a couple crews working at my house on some projects. Well, apparently while using an outdoor utility outlet they tripped my garage outlet that the chest freezer is hooked to. One evening, a few days later, I opened it to the smell of spoiling meat and seafood. Big bummer. Spent that evening filling trash bags with bad meat and throwing away.

Hulagn1971 Since it runs through wifi to their cloud back to the app on your phone, as long as you have the device connected to your wifi, the app on the phone, and notifications set, as well as temp thresholds, you'll get notified as fast as 30 minutes. Since I have wall outlets close by both nodes, they run on their power supplies instead of just the batteries, so I can set the reporting rate as well as the refresh rates as high as they can go. Edit: (Without worrying about their battery life)
