Ah, autumn at last! Last week, I was sent this:

so yes, there will be pumpkins.
But in the meantime, I've just gotten a new Blackstone griddle, and have been looking at things to feed it. I'm getting to be pretty quick at fried rice. Also, getting quicker at cleaning it up after fried rice. But beyond stir fries, there will be burgers and breakfast aplenty.
I'm trying to get over what I call the "Hammer and Nail" syndrome, or 'when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail". So, now that I have the flat top, I'm looking at everything and trying to figure out how to cook it on the griddle. Thank God for soup. That 's what is pulling me back from the edge. And also Paella. My paella pan is a little too round on the bottom to go on the griddle, and I do not see the point of trying to cook rice directly on it either. So it's back to the Weber Kettle for that.
Also, autumn brings me the ability to smoke cheese again, with cooler mornings and evenings. and best of all, Halloween candy is on sale. I don't eat much, but it's nice to stock up when it's cheap. I'll take the wins where I can find them.
