It seem like Pork Butt time again, and I'd only just recovered from the last one! There's good stuff all around, so be sure to get plenty of the local produce that's in season while it's at its best - like melons and berries and cherries.
LIDL is doing something interesting with their specials - either they're trying to confuse us, or generate interest in going there more than one per week - but they're changing their special dates. Earlier this year, they had shifted their sales period to start on Fridays, then back to Wednesdays. Now, they are have started some specials on the typcial Wednesday, and some (like the Pork Butt below) start Fridays - and only for the weekend - and now some show up on Monday.
I will be curious to see how this works out - and how long they do this. They are, in effect, creating multiple sub-periods per week for their sale specials. Do we want to have to keep track of that? Time will tell. This may turn into a new, more modualr way to plan shopping, or just a more subtle form of enshittification, which is becoming rampant elsewhere.
