Okay, so the annual Turkey Derby is officially ON, with all contenders listing their Turkey Specials!
The gloves are off, and the sleeves are rolled up!
Food Lion is in the lead, with 29-cent turkeys and a minimum $35 purchase. HT has that price, but wants $40 minimum. LIDL has 39-centers with a $25 minimum. All of these have a limit of 1 turkey per customer. Publix deserves a mention here (not listed) as they have 39-cent birds without a minimum puchase, but if you want two turkeys, the price jumps to $1.49.
As for Butterballs, FL and LIDL have them for 99 cents, ALDI for $1.07, and HT for $1.99. All these have a limit of 2 except HT.
All of these stores are imposing limits, but I haven't tested the boundaries of these policies lately. I have often been able to buy limited items, go put them in the car, then come back into the store and buy them again. I'm wondering when the 'customer care' apps will remember enough of my purchase history to prevent that. Maybe this is the year.
