    Veterans Day Deals

Please add any sales and such to this thread.

Starting off with a list of events nationwide, broken down by State

Deals for Active Duty, Veterans, and family members

NOTE: If you go to any of these establishments tomorrow, whether you are using the deals offered or not... please tip well, these poor staff members often get a lot of grief and stress from the event. I've personally witnessed horrid behavior over the years, usually from family members and not the vets themselves but also a couple times "stolen valor" types getting irate when declined the offers.

Belk also has a ton of things 50% off and a semi-stackable instore coupon for an additional 20% on some items, of course as usual items are marked up way high and then discounted low. We got new bedding, dishes and silverware and the receipt total was almost $700, out the door price with tax was $230ish. Items realistically woulda ran about $450ish so still significant savings.

Totally agree on the tipping. About the only discount I ever take advantage of is a free haircut each year but the barber always gets the regular cost of the haircut as the tip.

yeah I usually stick to online, especially in my tiny little town... I always appreciate the places that do these things. I'll never forget one of my old co-workers took a day off and mapped out all the Taco Bells in CO and ran a route getting his free burrito at each location, throwing them in a cooler while driving and then living off them for a few weeks (he froze many of them). While I don't think the gas and time equation broke even on his haul, it was an impressive feat!
