Thanks to these posts I've not missed out on quite a few deals. For whatever reason we don't get mailers until the week after the sale is over and I refuse to subscribe to email advertising for a grocery store.

The reminder the other week with .99 lb pork butts loaded my freezer!

This week, I took advantage of HT's sale on Oscar Meyer Beef franks (a guilty pleasure, they taste good and freeze well.). Also LIDL's 3-lb Brats at $7 each (2, already grilled, Vacuum-packed and into the freezer). I'm going past ALDI later today and will definitely look at the Spareribs, and Food Lion tomorrow for the Watermelons. My freezer's all full up with Pork Butt already, but I'm reminded to pull one out for smoking later.

Although, I don't hit a lot of specials every week. This week has a lot, so I will stock up. One of my favorite specials to look for is Salmon fillets. Two to three times a year, either Aldi or LIDL will have those around $6-7 per pound, and I will buy several, cure them as Gravlax, vacuum pack them and freeze them. (One should freeze them anyway, because parasites, and I'll do it after they're cured)
