    Zwilling prep knife sale

My Zwilling chef’s knife is the best knife I have. German knife. 15° blade angle. Sharp as hell and holds its edge, and easy to sharpen when it needs it. Good balance and good feel. I haven’t touched any other chef’s knife in weeks. But I’ve actually found a need for a knife in between my chef’s knife and my paring and utility knives; often one is too big, and the others are too small.

Zwilling 5.5” prep knife $39.99, down from $99.99

There is also a code for $15% off your order: wdk15-LP96-3X29-ST . That might come in handy if you want one of those $12000 Flammkraft gassers! Myself, I just grabbed a cheap cutting board to get the total over $69.99 and qualify for free shipping.

Zwilling doesn’t get talked about as much as some of the other blades, but it is a damn good tool. And it’s nice when a good tool is on sale.

I love my zwillings more than my shun, and whustofs. Way more that the cutcos my wife got. Only thing that might give it a run for the money are my Macs.

texastweeter Are you using a Mac chef knife? That may be my next purchase. Curious or your opinion if so. Thanks

I have a Mac santaku and sheep's foot pairing knife. They are absolute workhorses. I live them. DTro

My limited experience, I think Zwillings are great knives.

that is a good price! I’ve been looking at getting a new chef or santoku and seeing these on sale…maybe these are what I should look at.

I know these can be found a bit easier in store, I’d like to put hands on a few knives before I buy anything. I’ll have to see if I can get somewhere nearby this weekend.

      Thanks for sharing.

Wait, that's the 4 star. They are not full Tang, and plastic IM handles. My bread knife is one, and I don't like it.

If I don’t like it I’ll send it back, no worries! My chefs knife is the full tang.

I don't need it but I placed an order anyway. Couldn't beat the price

The knife came today. texastweeter it’s a $40 knife. The blade is excellent, the rest of it, eh. The handle is really light, and it is about 55-60% forward balanced. I have a couple Henkels paring knives from Bed Bath & Beyond with molded handles that have much better feel. It’s a good size, though. I’ll use it for the next week before I decide to keep it on the knife strip or sheath it and put it in the drawer.

Yeah that has been my experience with their 4 star. I think the full bolstered pro much better.

My knife arrived yesterday. My opinion is the same as yours

I will say, the (very thin) blade is sharp as hell right out of the box. I accidentally touched it to the back of my finger. This was just a touch.

The question is what will it be like in two weeks, and after that how often will it need to be sharpened, and how sharp will it get?

More importantly - will you run out of fingers first??

Don't get me wrong, it's good steel. It's the partial tang, handle and lack of full bolsters that I don't like.

I’ve been using it for a couple days. It’s too light by about 30%. If it were heavier it would have a better feel, it would tell me more about what’s going on down at the fingers and cutting board. I’ll give it a real try, though, I’ll work with it until the end of the month at least. But that cut to the back of the finger wouldn’t have happened with a more substantial tool.

Just saw on facebook where Wusthof is selling this style of knife for only $69.

Think they are called Silvertip, right? I have one of their Silvertip serrated pairing knives. Junk.
