Since these pans are formed from a single sheet, isn't there a lot of waste resulting from including the handle?

That is what it so appealing the me actually. I'm sure they have it mapped out so each sheet is used to full capacity and since steel is infinitely recyclable. There is no way a single pound goes to the trash.
