Raclette Grill Aldi $25

I debated about posting this one but I will flag my concerns and you guys can make the call. At this price though, it’s probably a great way to decide if you like Raclette and want to upgrade to a Swissmar. And, yes, I am keeping my eBay Swissmar for $62.

Similar Amazon unit but likely NOT the same unit.

My concerns at this price point:

—Heating is inconsistent across the grill resulting in food not cooking well and cheese not melting
—Stone part is more of a warming versus cooking tray effectively halving its capacity
—Stone part is hard to clean and stains easily

And yeah, the timing on this is hilarious with my eBay unit still on the way.

If the ebay unit fails to perform if/when you get it you have an inexpensive alternative if nothing else.

Looks like my local Aldi has these... but then I started thinking about it, and odds of us grilling at the table with an electric cord running across the table are almost nil. And then I thought of how many times I've used the grill pan I have for the stove top (like never!), which is probably similar in size... and for us, fondue could easily be a crock pot full of cheese dip!

So niche! Definitely a kitchen gadget that I don’t need.

This week, LIDL has a raclette grill (very different looking) for $19.99.

Also, a Food Grinder/Stuffer for $50, an Air Fryer for $40, an Induction Burner for $40, and a Fondue set for $25.

All things that I don't need, either.
