Does anyone have experience with the Kingsford Pro. I have never used it but would be willing to give it a try at that price per pound?

I don't use it for grilling, but I do use it in my pit barrel cooker. I usually get 10 hours on a full basket

I generally use Kingsford in my chimney or my starter course.

I use it exclusively when cooking on my 22” kettle or Smokey Joe. Works great for grilling. Never used it for low and slow smoking. I do that in the RT.

Yes I have. It’s fine but I like B&B more. All I’ve ever used this on was my WSM and not my kettle. However this is a good price and the B&B sale last weekend was not in stock for me so I couldn’t take advantage. I’ve used this the most in my WSM and I have no complaints. Picked up a bag this morning.

I picked up 2 bags of the Kingsford Pro at Costco yesterday. I used the Kingsford in my Kettle for grilling and I use B&B briquettes and char-logs in the Bronco for smoking and also with the SnS for low and slow in the Kettle.

I don’t think putting a label “professional” on it makes it so. It is all natural though with only char and vegetable binders. No borax and/or limestone. However, I grill 95% of the time with the original kingsford charcoal and it works for me. I guess I’ve acquired a taste for borax

I bought 6 bags, the limit at Costco, about a month ago and have used it on the last two cooks. I’m pleased with the results. I’ll have to try some B&B for a comparison.

Definitely try BB. It’s a bit longer wait in the start, I often keep some kingsford around, just to start the initial coals that I need lit. But the first time you close a lid and smell the Oak in BB, I bet your hooked, and on the long cook, it really shines,

B&B is my favorite. However, it's expensive and Kingsford Pro handles most of my grilling perfectly well. For long cooks it's B&B all of the way. Very oaky aroma and it burns forever.

I always buy the 3 pack max when it’s on sale in the spring and fall at Costco. That said I only use it to get my LSG up to temp and use B&B briquettes to do the heavy lifting during the time the meat is on the pit. Serves its purpose well for me and the price on sale makes it very worthwhile.

I've used it for grilling. Burns hot but quick. It also smokes like a locomotive on startup, so I personally would never use it for low and slow...

It’s great for every day grilling. It lights fast. It burns hot and clean. The only draw back is it burns very quickly. I don’t use it for low/slow. If you can find it at Costco at that price load up, like I have for the past few years.

Alan Brice My wife goes to Costco every 10 days or so and will grab 2 or 3 two-packs for me each time she's there.
