At least in the Carolinas, but probably across a wider region, Food Lion has pork butt for cheap: $0.99 per pound, limit 2.
if you want more than two, go to the store, buy two, then put them in your car. Go back into the store, buy two, then put them in your car. Rinse and repeat!
Also not bad on chicken breast or T-bone or blackberries.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Wow, great deals! Hard to pass up such cheap (and good!) versatile meat.
We recently had $1.49/lb pork butts, then a week later a different store had $1.49/lb St Louis trimmed ribs...I pounced on the ribs deal but missed the butts.
I learned years ago that it's best to just play dumb and make somebody tell me I'm not allowed to buy 5 butts (or whatever is on sale) at the sale price because there is a limit of 2. It hasn't happened to me yet.
And then they go ahead and ring me up at the sale price because it's more trouble to speak up and set the extras aside, Huskee. haha The same human nature we all complain about can be used to our advantage.
Steve R. Yep, I mean I can't stand it when patients/family ask "are my results back yet?" in the ER (if they were we'd come tell you), but I would probably ask the same question if I was waiting there 4 hrs....yep, human nature in many things.
My favorite way of dealing with a butt (other than smoking one whole) is to cut it up into ~1-inch chunks, then freeze them in bags, 2-1/2 pounds each. This allows me to strip out the various fascia and sinew, and distribute the fat more evenly amongst the bags. Then, when I feel the need for fresh sausage, I can just pull out the grinder and it's just minutes away!
Kathy came back from Food Lion this afternoon and I asked how many pork butts she bought. Her answer was huh? Tomorrow I guess its my turn to visit Food Lion.
Turns out it is a regional special as our local Food Lions aren’t honoring it yet. On talking with the meat guy he said it may appear in the next several weeks locally.
