    I just got off the phone with Amazon. I spent 30 min trying to get through to these people with no satisfaction. The bottom line is that if I order one and am not satisfied, contact Amazon and they will contact the seller...

    Edit to add the important part of the follow up email Amazon sent me.

    "I'm sending this email as confirmation that in order for us to be able to communicate with the seller and see the order on our end , you will have to place the order . than if you do not like the outcome on the order, we will be more than happy to contact the seller on your behalf and they will respond back to you within 24hrs-48hrs after an email is sent to them."

      Well, that doesn't sound very good. If Amazon is involved in ripping me off I'm going to be pretty angry about it.

      Yeah, if the SELLER is not Amazon, then it is up to the SELLER to refund your money if you are not happy with the order, and Amazon is just acting as a web platform for that sale. In some cases, you may see a 3rd party seller but it is listed as "Fulfilled by Amazon" - that is a case where the seller pays Amazon to warehouse the items, and it ships, but again - Amazon is not the seller.

      It comes down to the safest transactions are those both sold AND fulfilled by Amazon.

    My wife purchased something a couple of years ago on Amazon, and she didn't pay attention to the fact the seller was not Amazon, and it just didn't work right or broke immediately. We had to deal with the seller in China to get a refund, and they ended up telling me just to keep it or throw it away, as they didn't want to pay for return shipping of a defective item to China. But it was all messages back and forth between me and the seller in China, through Amazon's web page. Amazon really was never involved other than as a web platform. We did get the refund in that case, but it took a bit of back and forth to make it happen.

      Amazon seems to clearly indicate they protect the buyer from third-party sellers.

    Today is the day it's supposed to be delivered yet USPS doesn't recognize the tracking number (shocked 😲). So I have initiated the refund process.

      Don't mean to sound negative but why would anyone believe they can buy anything that is $600 for $80. I have a bridge for sale for only ....

        Well, to start, it's normally more like $300. Secondly, deals and price mistakes happen every day. Finally, I considered this zero risk given the Amazon return policy.

        Haha. Yes, I need to stop being so wimpy and just bundle up. I'm in Alabama - at least I am not digging a path through the snow to my grills.

        I was hoping it would work out for you. I have been back and forth with myself about getting an Ooni. I'd like the Gas or Wood and probably the Karu 16 but might settle for the smaller 12" and the Koda or Frya. We order too much pizza and so I can almost justify the cost

        Porkies If I didn't have a Blackstone pizza oven I think I would get the Karu 16 gas.
