Some time back, a couple or so months ago, we were having a discussion here about things economic. A comment was made that if the projected market reactions to rapid inflation rises occurred, there would likely be some screaming deals on equipment after prime outdoor cooking season runs it's course. Well, this might be an early sign that inventories are backing up and suppliers are trying to figure out how to motivate buyers: Kamado Joe Big Joe III Package — Atlanta Grill Company
$1000 off!! For anyone who's been lusting for a large format, quality kamado, loaded with features, here's your shot.
On Ebay new, so presumably Ebay stands behind the vendor, $1584, free shipping, says it come with cart near bottom of page, although it doesn't look like the same cart.
Your ebay link is for the big Joe I, the more base model to the big Joe III posted above. Still a great deal ($475 off normal price), just not quite an apples-to-apples comparison.
But hey, if you buy 3, the price gets further discounted to $1553. What a steal!!
And the same Series 1 Big Joe is offered at Walmart for $1200, though there might be some shipping charge there. Lots of feature differences between the series 1 and 3.
Damn. That’s a hell of a deal for a hell of a cooker. And I’m eventually going to have to upgrade my 22†kettle at some point. I was contemplating either a 26†kettle or the Weber E6. But I’d be perfectly thrilled with this instead. However, the downside is that this would have to be parked on my back deck, which is wooden and elevated several feet. This Big Joe weighs 480 pounds (per KJ website). I’d be afraid of it eventually either falling through (worst case scenario) or, at the very least, causing the deck to sag. If I had a concrete patio, I might be talking to the wife tonight about an advance on my next 5 X-mas, birthday, and Father’s Day gifts.
Damn. I hope someone else jumps on this and allows me to live vicariously through them.
hoovarmin Had ‘the talk’ with the boss last night. No dice. Like I said, it’s a hell of a deal on a great cooker that can really do everything I would want really well. But that weight is a deal breaker. Even if I bulked up the deck, that’s something that would always be in the back of my mind. Damn, that would be really awesome though

When, not if I get a Kamado I’m going with the Weber Summit. I need the mobility because it would be moved around. But damn if that’s not a great deal.
I bought the new Big Joe 1 last spring. I love mine. The 1 is just a larger version of the classic that I learned to do so many things on over the last 6 years. I didn’t have to adjust my cooking much at all. I didn’t really want a slow roller, so I just got a lot more room and saved some money too. It will be full of pastrami this weekend.
Uncle Bob Mine came with the divide and conquer system. Admittedly it doesn’t have a woven gasket or the air hinge. I’ve had my classic about 6 years, but it’s new enough that it came with the divide and conquer system. I bought the big stainless charcoal basket with the removable divider from BBQ Guys. I also bought a new Smobot for the Big Joe. My two cookers cook very similar to one another. I’m had no complaints about my original cooker I just wanted to be able to cook more at one time.
Uncle Bob and Oak Smoke I have the III and the taller body is a fantastic innovation. On the top level of the divide and conquer the grate is much higher above the coals, which allows me to use it in much the same way I use my Pit Barrel Cooker to cook direct on the grate for that meat juice smoke flavor without flame ups that over-char the meat.
It looks like an incredible deal. In my garage: Weber gasser. Smokey Joe. Jumbo Joe. WSM 14.5".
On my patio: Weber 27" kettle. Pit Barrel Cooker. OKJ stick burner.
I feel like none of my stable gets enough love as it is. Ever since I added the offset I haven't had the MCS itch.

I just went to BBQ Guys where I purchased mine and it appears that they are planning to stop being a distributor of the Kamado Joe. I'm guessing this is because they make their own Kamado now. They only have a few old models of the classic left in stock. This is probably a hefty blow to the Altanta Grill Company.
