SNS insert for Big Green Egg pre-orders

stumbled upon this. Was new to us, but it might not be new to you.

Got this in my inbox earlier and thought about posting it here, but I was lazy. I figured that you or someone else would post it and you did! Thanks for validating my laziness!

I'm going to double check the measurements and see if it fits my Bayou Classic kamado, it is about the size of a large BGE.

Wow looks great! I need one for the XL BGE.

Looks like it eliminates the lower chamber used for the charcoal and creates a half circle area for a lot less charcoal closer to the grate. Sort if like adding a drop in grill to the top of the BGE with a direct and an indirect side. Sort of like adding a small grill to top part of the BGE and just using the BGE as an adjustable chimney. Would be helpful if they offered more explanation, because it looks like you can accomplish much the same using a small portable grill such as th PKGO or the Weber Go-Anywhere. What am I missing here?

The SnS started as an insert for the Weber kettle that makes two zone cooking easier. Kamados such as the BGE are normally not very good for two zone cooking. This allows one to expand the versatiliy of a kamado grill without having to buy a separate grill. BGE owners are very much into their Eggs (they have their own forum and have local and national meet ups) and they like accessorizes such as this one. I own the SnS Kamado and I love it, Its like having a kettle and a kamado all in one.

looks like they raised the fire grate higher in the BGE cooking chamber. That gives you a bigger surface are to spread out the coals and makes it easier to create two zones. Similar to the WSCG. Then you can use their accessories.

I have their charcoal basket for $45 for the Akorn. It would seem like it would achieve the 2-zone cooking without spending the extra $250.

Similar to the WSCG. Then you can use their accessories, the S&S charcoal basket and dripin' griddle. I'd buy it for my XL BGE.

It looks like a good deal to me. As 58limited mentioned it lets us use our BGE like a Weber Kettle with a SnS too. It's similar to the SnS Kamado which is also great!
