Charcoal, whatever is on sale. Currently have a bunch of KBB. Will eventually try B&B. Use whatever lump is on sale in my Ooni.

Rubs:
Usually make my own riff’s on Memphis Dust and BBBR. Also use Meathead’s commercial rubs and occasionally try something new. I like a couple from Tuffy Stone and Kinder’s. After several surgeries, I’m very sensitive to “spicy” stuff, so I need to be careful about heat levels.
As a new-ish pellet cooker owner, I’ve only tried the Lumberjack pellets I got with the cooker and some B&B Pellets that I’ve been running on the recommendation from a friend. I like both, but absolutely prefer the lumberjack. That said, I’ve seen and have been VERY curious about the Costco pellets.
I do not have a pellet pooper. I just bought some grill grates n heard you could drop some pellets into the channel’s for a bit of smoke on the gasser. Also I have a cast iron box w/ lid appx the size of a Liscense plate. 3-4 inches thick, and I can put wood chips inside, on the grill w/ nice results.
A dbl handful of these provide great smoke for the first few hours at 200-250.
