    Porter Road Chuck Eye

On sale 20% off. I sm a big fan of Porter Road products, but I am going to pass on this one. Unexpected adult child related expenses.

Our dry aged, hand-cut Chuck Eye Steak is unlike any you’ve ever tasted. This steak stands out thanks to it's beautiful marbling, and deep beefy flavor. All of our beef are pasture-raised with no antibiotics and no added hormones. We dry age our beef whole to give each and every cut a rich, steakhouse flavor.

Honestly, for chuck-eye (good meat but with a lot of waste to trim away) I'd just find a local butcher or meat market that carries them ... almost certainly for a third (or 1/4 at the regular price) of what Porter Road charges.

Geez. Pretty pricey for a chuck steak. I agree with MBMorgan above. I’d go to my local butcher.

Well, I have a couple of really nice thick chuck eyes in the freezer right now that cost me just a tad over $4.28 per pound - I got them from butchering a chuck roll, where there was little to no waste. I need to dry brine and cook them up soon. Porter Road pricing is a tad high on this cut in my opinion.

I have never had one so I don't know anything about them. I do have some chucks from pr that are pretty excellent

Chuck eye was my go-to in college. Basically a poor man's ribeye they were 1/3 the cost of a ribeye back then.

You remind me if when I was a kid. Mom would get chuck steaks because they were cheap and then cook the crap out of them under the broiler. She overcooked everything. Of course I didn’t know any better at the time.

Prices shot up over the last year. This used to be one of my fave cuts to buy from them but i agree with the price sentiment these days and its not something i would order
