Creekstonefarms.com sale on ribs, skirt steaks, tenderloins, etc.

Thinking of the holiday coming up, there's still time (if you order before tomorrow, Weds, at noon CST) to place an order for the ribs sale ($26 off, = $99 for 4 St Louis Duroc racks): https://shop.creekstonefarms.com/col...reribs-4-racks

    Other sale items: https://shop.creekstonefarms.com/collections/specials

    Their shipping policy:
    • Free UPS 2nd Day Air (FREE for orders of $150+) - will deliver 2 days after shipment.
    • UPS 2nd Day Air ($25) - will deliver 2 days after shipment.
    • UPS Next Day Air ($75) - will deliver the day after shipment.
    • UPS Next Day Air - Saturday Delivery ($100) - will ship on Friday and deliver the following day on Saturday. This delivery option isn't available for all areas of the U.S.
We are able to ship products to the 48 contiguous states and cannot ship to PO boxes. We process out orders Monday through Thursday for delivery Tuesday through Friday with Saturday delivery available in some areas (must be selected at checkout). Every effort will be made to ship orders as quickly as possible. Orders placed before noon CST, are typically processed that same day. Orders placed after noon CST, are typically shipped out the next available shipping day. We do not ship packages over the weekend so it’s important to note that orders placed after noon CST on Wednesdays may not ship until the following Monday with the UPS 2nd Dair Air shipping option.

Note for those that like skirt, Creekstone is selling the less desirable (IMO) outside skirt steak versus the inner skirt steak that is typically used for carne asada and tacos. Michael_in_TX knows!

I honestly heard that it was the other way around too. I've only been able to find inside skirt at Costco and have been looking for what I thought was the more desirable outside. I guess I have to do some reading!

I recently read a short article from Pat La Frieda (NY Butcher) who's preference is only outside skirt steak. He does not sell or cook at home inside skirt steak. He mentions at supermarkets you'll find skirt steak and it's not labeled inside or outside, it's definitely inside skirt steak your buying. Restaurants are usually only buying outside skirt steak so it's hard to find for us back yard grillers

Outside skirt (from what I have read) is more desirable than inside skirt. I have had both and definitely prefer outside skirt steak. Most supermarkets only carry inside skirt steak and the restaurants are the one's that order outside skirt steak.
Here's a link to an article with better explanation https://www.masterclass.com/articles...is-skirt-steak

    Getting my order tomorrow.
2 packs of ribs, 2 packs of outside skirt steaks and 1 pack of the flank steaks.
Paid for the overnight shipping cause I didn’t want any problems with the weather being warm this time of year.

I thought about it, but I dunno if it would arrive before I leave for vacation, so I'd better pass. Maybe there'll be some decent sales later in July. <sigh>

I dint wanna risk it getting delivered after 2PM Friday. We fly at 5. - Although I could drive there and pick it up, if they'd let me, they're only a couple hours away.

I grabbed a couple orders of the pork ribs (8 slabs) because I've been unable to find any decent quality ribs at all lately.

I really wanna try those Duroc ribs. I tried a Duroc ham and wasn't impressed - it was just a ham.

What we've found is that Duroc meat is darker and to me has a little deeper "Pork" flavor but tends to be a little leaner.
Several of the kids around here raise Duroc hogs for 4H so we try and get one every fall.

realdocBBQ I don't notice much difference in flavor but I season my ribs kinda heavy anyway. They do seem to be a touch thinner which to me is good because they cook a bit quicker and more even IMO, FWIW. Whether they're worth it or not is questionable, but I enjoy the sales.
