Many think that's a cheap way to go...........well, unless they calculate the value of their labor on top of the real cost of the various goodies needed to deck it out. Though there is the satisfaction of saying "I built that".

Like it's little brother, the Pro comes with wheels, side shelf, ash pan, large fuel basket, central air flow, heat deflector, woven seal for the hinged lid, thermometer, and what I think is a bonus, the primary grate is at rim level making it easier access than having to reach down inside to manipulate whatever is cooking. tstalafuse I just remembered you bought the regular size Bronco when Walmart had their sale last month. You and Uncle Bob are the only ones here with both, that I’m aware of. Damn impressive.

Panhead John That was why I was hoping the sale would expire before I accidentally twitched and bought one... I have done a couple of briskets (one hanging and one flat on the grate), but I wasn't comfortable with the hanging style, and the grate was too small for laying it out flat (the one cooked flat was the one my big dog girl decided to help herself to the point). So, now I will have one for brisket/ribs and another for pork butts/chicken.

I'm trying to figure out how this compares with my 22" WSM. Approximately the same size cooking grate. If I was in the market, it might be a tough choice.

Bogy I won't be able to comment on whether they cook different or not as I will only have the Pro. I do on the other hand have an 18" & 22" WSM and the bigger one is way easier for me to keep the temp steady. Plus I really like the larger cooking space even if I don't always need it. I have quite the rainbow of Weber grills so the Orange is going to fit right in.

Bogy they run, cooking wise, pretty much equally in ease and reliability. The best rationalization I can give toward favoring the Pro (particularly for the comparatively tiny up cost) is that you'll have the added space if/when you need it, and, maybe more importantly, the whole (mostly) world of Weber kettle accessories will fit. You want different grate styles, say to combine hanging and grate cooking at the same time? Lots of options. You want to adapt a Santa Maria accessory? Easy peasy.
