4.98 a lb prime brisket - seems to go to be true right now... thoughts?

I'm not crazy about this part - cooking for two most of the time and would not want to get hit with a $125 worth of brisket.

That’s what I paid for one from them several months ago. It was excellent quality. But it weighed almost 19 pounds. It was HUGE. However my local Costco has prime grade for $3.99/lb these days.Last edited by Jfrosty27; April 5, 2022, 11:19 AM.

My local store has them $1/lb cheaper and I can pick my size. Online retailers like Wild Fork are great for those who can't find prime brisket or those whose local stores are considerably more expensive. I buy lamb from Wild Fork - way cheaper than at my local store and a better selection.

Online resources are for folks who cannot find the good deals near them and since they are providing a service you can expect the price to be a smidge above local grocery stores. That said, $4.99/lb is not bad at all for a Prime brisket! I haven't ordered brisket from them but I have ordered other things from them and was very happy.
I would be a bit concerned whether I'd end up paying $35 or $125 with zero control over which it was. A bulk fill of propane or a side of beef are the only other average-Joe commodities I can think of with that kinda open-endedness. I'd love to see them offer a couple price/size ranges (ex $35-$50 for 7-10lb, $55-$65 for 11-13lb, etc)) if their products vary that much in size.

That is a fair concern and I agree about offering it up by range. I ordered 7.9lb of brisket and 3lbs of short ribs estimated, and got 11.2lbs of brisket and 5lbs of short ribs, it was more expensive than I wanted to spend, but I will have leftovers.Last edited by JMuseum; April 6, 2022, 11:17 AM.

I bought two briskets from Wild Fork, and they turned out great. I too was worried about the size, but they sent me a 12# and a 14#, which was perfect.

Arrived and defrosting. More info on the very confusing billing. They give you an estimated weight/price - it was 7.9lb then they put a hold on your credit card for a higher weight 11.2lbs and at some point (still waiting) they remove the hold and correctly bill you for the weight you bought. It makes sense from a business standpoint, but still seems odd.Last edited by JMuseum; April 7, 2022, 09:21 AM.

Confirmed, $3.99/pound at Costco for Prime briskies. Had a bin full, big ones too, 17-18#. Right next to that were giant bronto ribs for $7.99/pound choice. I'm fully stocked so I kept walking.
