Subject: Hurricane Dorian Update #2
Everyone (you are receiving this as a BBQ but it is intended for you),
We don't have a lot of new information at this time. Dorian is a very slow-moving Hurricane and even though it is weakening the wind speeds are still at 120 mph this morning. We have equipment moving to a staging location outside Atlanta and a few members of leadership will be heading out on Wednesday to scout out locations. At this time we have lined up potential deployment sites from West Palm Beach, FL to Wilmington many communities in between.
We are working on getting our supply chain moving and our on-site package put together to ensure we have the items needed when we know where exactly we are going.
In addition to the US Coast, we have also been in contact with organizations in the Bahamas and how we could support the feeding efforts there once the storm passes. This is something our team is working on to see all the possibilities. As close as the Bahamas are the option we are looking at is cooking near a port around Miami and either putting bulk protein on a ship or airlifting it to the island. More to come on this. The Bahamas will need assistance for many weeks/months and we will see if we can be part of the solution.
Please continue to promote our social media posts and helping get the word out on what we are doing. Below are a couple of links to interviews yesterday.
