I was the President of a large professional organization (168,000 members) in an industry that experienced a protracted downturn with extensive layoffs and unemployment. We offered up to two years of free renewals and still lost more than 15,000 members. I appreciate the gesture and hope that those in need will take advantage of it. There aren't many things on the internet I pay to be a member of other than those that I can see generating real cash savings for me... CVS has a deal that gives me back more in cash than I spend on it plus free shipping... Amazon Prime because I get a discount and the savings, the NYTimes and Walmart+ because my American Express card reimburses me for them...I used to pay for a really good subscription weather program to get rid of the ads but they went away!
And of course amazingribs.com just for the camaraderie and information!

I keep paying those dues every year and what does it get me? Lots of great advice that has vastly improved my cooking skills, a whole bunch of great people to share my life with, and oh yeah, and shiny gas grill to cook on for years to come. I guess I'll keep paying those dues until my Social Security runs out.
I, like many others have become much better cooks because of you and the members of AmazingRibs.com. While my postings are few, my reading and following recipes are many. Membership is a pay for content for me as I never win anything

Been smoking a handful of years, just got serious in the last two or three years. Thanks to AR n @glemn picked up an SnS Kamado for appx 1/3 price of new. I dont think he used it twice. Love AR! keep calm n smoke on! Miss you Bonesy.
I look at it this way, I got in when it was $25 a year. (round up for mathematical purp). Was lucky enough to win a 2nd place prize. Hence my membership has been paid in advance for at least 24 years($600) and that is not the Grand prize!! PLUS!.....plus I get to hang with a bunch o' knuckle heads and ROFLMAO. and the pics aint bad, Das all. Thank you Meathead & everyone that makes it all happen.
Nice idea on rounding up the membership, but I am opposed. I am a firm believer in set a price and don't eff with it. No discounts, no increases. We can afford the occasional scholarship. And when we raised the price a couple of years ago membership stopped growing.
