Problem with my Avid Armor AVS7900 vacuum sealer.

I generally love my AA, I'm using it more and more now with making my own bacon, etc. Hope to use it more with doing lots of leftovers on the coming holiday. Planning to do a bunch of sausage storage as well, since I've started making that, as well as smoking spiral sliced hams more often, since this is better than buying lunchmeat ham.

But the stupid foam seals keep coming off.

I've marked what I'm talking about in this pic.

These two seals come off all the time - sometimes in between each time sealing something, and since I'm double sealing bags to be extra cautious, that's 4 seals per bag, AND with my bacon sometimes I'm double bagging (a throwback to college drinking days ) and double sealing - so... sometimes 8 seals per package. UGH! Just now I did a bunch of bacon and those things just would NOT stay in place!

Anyone else have this issue? What did you do? Should I use some food grade high temp silicone or something inside the grooves they sit in?

Except for this issue, I generally like my sealer.

I'm starting to run low on rolls of material as well, so I need to order some more, especially before Turkey Day gets here. I've ordered several times on Amazon, but I can't remember which ones worked well and which ones didn't? I know one brand I bought kept losing vacuum in the freezer, so I lost a lot of meat to freezer burn that way. I don't want to go through that again. I need some 7- or 8-inch as well as some 11-inch. Which ones do you use?

Oh yes... here's what I did tonight.

I only double bagged one of these (top center) as I wasn't as confident in it after double sealing. I cut my bags short this time, as I was worried about running out, so I took a risk - hopefully none of my cure leaks out in the fridge over the next 5 days.

If you gonna start sealing a bunch do what I did.

Oooooh man, my covetousness is flaring up! Someday....

I really need a bigger meat slicer as well. Something about having to cut my bacon so short annoys me. It's like 4" strips once cooked. My slicer is just a little guy...

+1 - I have used an old 6” bladed hand crank deli slicer for years. It’s very sturdy and so makes even slices for bacon. I don’t cut the bacon in half, but I have to ‘feed’ it into the slicer. It’s a real chore, but it has been worth it.

I just bought a new Beswood 10” for an early Christmas present. 🎄😎

I'd probably replace the gasket first and if that doesn't do it I'd use one small dot of glue in the troublesome area.

How is the gasket attached? Is it glued or possibly in a groove?

How about some double stick tape if it's glued.

the gasket is in a groove on top and bottom - but it looks to me like there is no glue or attachment of any kind. It has always done this from the beginning. I like the seal, it is in good shape as well - maybe it was supposed to be glued and someone missed it at the factory? This is why I was hoping someone else also had this issue.
