Longtime lurker on amazing ribs and finally just joined yesterday! Looking to purchase a Wifi controller for my 22" WSM. Overall I can't complain about the WSM its been very consistent with using a few Maverick thermometers. I want something for the longer and sometimes overnight cooks. I usually don't have to make many adjustments overnight in the summer when I keep the Maverick temp alarms at 225-265 (gotta get some sleep), but I'm wanting even more consistent temps without getting out of bed. I've been eyeing the party Q forever but there's a lot more choices now and I'm leaning towards the Fireboard with weatherproof case because it has spots for 6 probes and wifi. I see a lot of you guys recommending the pit viper fan instead of the Auber they sell on their website. Is this just because of all the adapters bbq guru has available? I also have a Cajun Bandit stacker for my smoker, is the Pit Viper Fan sufficient while using that too or would I need to step up to the Pit Bull? Though it sounds like that may be overkill. I don't use it often but the last time I did I had two full briskets and 3 pork butts in the WSM. I've been comparing the Fireboard with the Auber, Flameboss, and Digi/Cyber Q. It seems like the Fireboard is the most feature packed; is it missing anything the others offer? How is the wifi on the Fireboard, does it keep a good connection for everyone? For anyone using the fireboard and fan setup on a 22" WSM how do you like it and any tips for getting started!?! Thanks in advance. One last question... Is there notifications on the iOS app. When the food hits target temp, if connection is lost, or the fan stops working? Or is it all just open and check on it every so often?

Welcome to The Pit. I have an older CyberQ, but as you have found out, lots of people here love their Fireboards. I can't help with which fan. I suggest calling BBQGuru. They should be able to tell you which fan you need.

22" Weber Kettle w/SNS, 18" WSM, Bronco, Grilla Chimp, Traeger Tailgater, UDS, Camp Chef Tahoe Stove.
Welcome to the pit from TN. I have a 18" wsm and a party Q that I use with the Maverick XR 50. I have only used the party q once - on a brisket cook at Christmas (I chronicled the cook here https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...4-brisket-cook) but it worked as advertised. Every once in awhile I fantasize about the fireboard, but the Maverick works out for me; my set up is on my deck right outside the kitchen, so the wi fi works fine for me.

I just picked up a second Weber kettle and will be doing the same with it. I have the Fireboard and just called them yesterday to discuss my options. They offer a fan, but it is a "clip on" style that they basically said they brought to market just to be able to offer something, but that it requires some improvising, depending on the cooker. Therefore, I've decided to go with the guru pit viper (medium duty), which they told me is more than plenty for the Webers.

Thermoworks Smoke
Therma Pen MK4 - orange
Easy Bake Oven
Favorite beer: Coors
Favorite wine/liquor: Gave both up last year

I have the BBQ Guru Digiq DX3 with universal Weber adapter and 20 CFM fan. It works well for my WSM 22 and WSM 18. I bought an adapter for my PBC as well, but haven't tried it yet.
