Hello fellow smokers, I'm getting ready to pull the pin and order up a fireboard (If Santa didn't get he hint). The question I have is anyone using one on thier BWS and if so which fan are you using? I do see that Guru sells an adapter would I need this?

I use the Fireboard on the Backwoods Chubby G2. Got a Viper Fan and adapter from BBQ Guru. That said, unless you are doing overnight cooks, or unless you need the Fireboard for meat probes or just a temp probe without a fan, I am not sure the Fireboard adds a lot of value. My G2 is so easy to set at target temp and maintain, I have stopped using the fan for most cooks unless it is for overnight. I still use the Fireboard and fan frequently for cooks on the kettle. BTW, I used to have a Digiq controller. Like the Fireboard much better with the wifi capability.

I cook over night about 50% of the time, and as much as the BWS holds its temp like a pro I'm thinking would be nice for that extra help. Part of me would like the WIFI and Tracking part of the Fireboard.

If you have other cookers that might benefit from a fan controller temperature device then the Fireboard/Pit Viper combo is the way to go, even if you don't use it on the G2. You get pinpoint control plus the extras you mention, wifi/bluetooth and tracking. They also save your cooking session in the cloud so they are theoretically never lost.
