I have a CyberQ, (with the Pit Pal app), as well as several Thermoworks thermometers. They all work well, but there are two things I do wish for that neither do:
1- I hate wires!! I want them to go away! That's why I am watching the Meater.
2- I want and audible alarm on my phone when the target temp is hit. Over the internet would be great, but I'd settle for just wifi at home.
I most definitely am patiently awaitin' th' time when wireless probes become th' norm...
I have absolutely no desire, or intent to make holes in my cookers...
Some of my Webers are ~50 yrs old...
Any/all connectivity improvements would be welcome, in my book, as well..
Definitely agree on the wireless probes! I have the fireboard (which I love) but I spend a lot of time stringing wires just cause it gives you six ports.
There is some wireless technology out there for the Refrigeration industry, Service tools like pressure gauges, and thermocouples that are Bluetooth. I think the problem is going to be the heat, technology is definitely there though.
Definitely agree with all the wires. I'm into my 4th cook using the CyberQ WiFi. From insertion To plug-in To cleaning To storage, Quite The Tangle. Would also love to have audible alerts on my laptop and phone. Glaring omission in my opinion (Hello BBQ Guru, anyone home!). I also used their BBQ Pit Pal app on my phone which I thought would solve the alarm problem but, I am sad to report, it doesn't.
