Welcome to The Pit SMOBOT . Do you have any plans to adapt this to other cookers? I think a metal adapter sleeve to mount the Smobot on could make it usable with lots of smoker with air holes on top of the cooker. Maybe a heatproof silicon ring on the bottom to hold it in place, or a magnetic ring.

RonB Yes, we plan on supporting as many different grills and smokers as possible. Today we are announcing support for the Chargriller AKORN® KAMADO KOOKERâ„¢. We started with the BGE, Kjoe, Primo because they all have the same attachment method, so one piece of hardware is pretty much universal. We will start branching out to other grills as we come up with attachment designs.

Incidentally, because there's an apparent demand for a SMOBOT version for the Akorn, and because we see that the adaptation is simple (with the help of a new mechanically-inclined friend who owns one), we've gone ahead and added an Akorn-specific SMOBOT to the kickstarter, to be delivered in August. Just a simple modification is needed to our existing design, so we're confident we'll have it ready..Comment
