Would like to add temp control to my PK 360 but don't know if it's possible. Would use combo such as Fireboard + Pit Viper (other suggestions appreciated). I've searched forums but can't find clear answer.
Thanks in advance
(Guess I should change the "SoCal" to "WNC", as I got smart and headed eastwards to the Blue Ridge)

I use the FB and the Pit Viper. I have been very happy with that so far. It has worked for me for over 5 years now. I am sure they have an adaptor for it.
(Also, I can help you with the name change if you really wanna do that. )
FB + Pit Viper will work. I don’t know if the have an attachment for a PK, but I’d think a Weber attachment for the Pit Viper would work. Just drill a hole in the PK the same size as the old weber circular vent. PK is aluminum and easy to drill.
I'd checked with PK and they have no adapters. TripleB's idea sounds good, I may look into that. Never drilled aluminum but good to know it wouldn't be too much of a problem.
Glad to hear more suggestions; if I go ahead with Weber attachment down the road I'll report back.
Polarbear777 has the answer. No drilling - better technique. You'd have to stuff the vent tubes anyway. However, I have smoked ribs and a small butt (3 lb) on my PK360. I used the minion charcoal fire method and kept my desired temp (250d) for like 9 hours. Pretty impressed with how well the PK360 held its temp.
Polarbear777 is a good resource for the PK360. When I owned mine, I learned a great deal from his threads.
But I can confirm, the round fan port from BBQ Guru will fit in the front vent adjustment tube. I stuffed foil in the back of that tube and boom, worked like a charm. There is a pipe cap that you can buy, but it requires a little more involvement to get it setup.
The standard Weber round adapter for the bbq guru pit viper or put bull press fits into the front of the pk360 intake tube. No drilling necessary for the 360.

Am thinking about joining the "long cook fan controlled cooking method fraternity"! ! I know,.. it seems like cheating, but I'm getting too old to keep worrying about temp fluctuations and fire management! Are there any systems out there that operate on batteries? My PK360 isn't near any electricity. Certainly would make my decision easier! Also could use some installation tips. as well. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
