Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I understand this is an old post, but wondering if anyone has a KA Artisan? We have that one, and it's probably 10-12 yrs old. Purchased I'm guessing from Kohl's, since it was a gift. Used nearly daily, but definitely weekly, zero trouble ever. I sometimes use it to pull pork or beef and use it to grind burger with the plastic grinder attachment, albeit not on the regular.
The Artisan is just a smaller version of the "professional" model. My daughter has had hers for 13 years and no problems at all. If you have one that is mechanically sound I certainly wouldn't replace it. The new limitations have apparently been added in the past couple years. I can certainly vouch there's a basis for the new limitation, at least in my one limited case. Americas Test Kitchen also talks about the new limitation. So take my option and experience for what it's worth.
