Weston Meat Grinder on sale at Costco. Worth the price?

As you can see, this 1hp meat grinder is on sale for $120. Is anyone familiar with this unit? Is it any good? Is this a good price for it? Will I be as frustrated as I was using the plastic KA grinder?

Basically, I’m looking for recommendations. I don’t know what I should be looking for in a meat grinder. I just know that I want a decent one. Any help is appreciated.

That is very inexpensive for a one horsepower meat grinder.

I would stay away from something that is Die-Cast aluminum as it is Not dishwasher safe. Smokehouse Chef makes a grinder to go on the KA and is dishwasher safe SS. they also sell various grinder plates if needed. I have the "Original SS Meat grinder " for the KA and it works very well with easy cleanup.

If you use it a lot, keep an extra worm gear a food grade grease around though.

I use my KA for small stuff, all my dedicated stuff is LEM and it has never let me down.

LEM fan boy here. Next year I'm getting the 25lb mixer to attach to the #8 grinder.

I have this one from MEAT! It’s served me extremely well for a couple years. It’s more than powerful enough for my needs, and will get through a couple lbs of chuck in less than a minute. They usually have a big Black Friday sale, so if you can wait a bit it may be close to the same price.

Thanks everyone for your information and help. I decided not to pull the trigger on this after consultation with my wonderful wife. I’ll shop around for something with dishwasher safe parts. I now have a much better idea of what to look for and look out for.
