    WiFi Smart Coffee Maker

In my never ending quest to keep The Pit informed about the latest and greatest products and gadgets….along with occasional sex tips, I give you this……The Atomi WiFi Enabled Coffee Maker. You can remotely control it through their free app that you download on your phone or tablet. I’ve had mine for a few weeks now and it’s great. I don’t wake up at the same time every day so I can start my coffee whenever I like, using my phone…EZ PZ. You can also program it to turn on at a certain time each day, just like most coffee makers do. You do all your programming, coffee strength, on/off etc. from your phone. The clock sets itself when you connect the coffee maker to your Wi-Fi and keeps the same time as your phone, so it’s pretty damn accurate. It also adjusts for Daylight Savings Time automatically. All of this can also be done on the coffee maker itself, if needed.

When you turn on the coffee maker with the app, it starts a circular progress bar, letting you know that it’s brewing. When it’s finished brewing, you also get an alert on your phone letting you know it’s done. The coffee maker itself also emits a few beeps to let you know it’s finished. The alerts and beeps can be turned off if you want. This might not be for you, if you wake up at the same time each day, but I love it. Sometimes I’m up at 6:30, sometimes 8:30, but I like being able to start my coffee anytime I want, without having to go downstairs…..or having to set it for the same time each day. It has a “Pause and Serve” feature where you can pour coffee while still brewing, like most of them do. It also has a spill free sensor which detects if the carafe isn’t positioned correctly on the warming plate. It won’t brew until the carafe is flat on the warming plate. It’s $90. on Amazon and has a 5 year limited warranty.

That’s a phone pictured on the box, not a remote control

I KNEW you were a secret bean user!

looks kind of nifty, but since my beautiful bride makes the coffee and is not tech savvy, looks like a toy I’ll have to skip.

So, we just have to sneak into your house every night and move the carafe off of the warming plate a little thus making you have to come down stairs and start it manually? Sounds like fun.

Thanks for PMing me the sign up sheet and PJ’s address. It sounds like we got a few weeks of this sneaking in already on the books.

I use my wife instead. She also automatically loads the coffee. Highly recommended.

You still have to load it the night before though, right? I just have never got in the habit.

Or does it come with a coffee-loading robot?

The robot is extra. 🥸. Yeah, you do have to load with coffee and water the night before….or whenever. I usually load mine up after dinner.

I wouldn't necessarily trust un-caffeinated me to use an app first thing in the morning. I have to set all that up the night before. But it's easier in my case since I do wake up the same time every weekday.

          1. Touch the app to open it.
          2. Touch the start button….done!

I’d switch to PBR before I drink decafe!

We have a system that works with our $20 Mr. Coffee. I stagger out in the morning, hit the button on the burr grinder, fill the carafe and dump it into the reservoir, put the grounds in the basket and hit the button. I then drag myself to the couch to recover from all that effort and wait for Lisa to come out and pour for both of us.

My bedroom is upstairs from the kitchen, this works great for me. By the time I’ve finished my wake up routine and head downstairs it’s ready. It’s probably not as big a deal for folks living in a one story.

Wow there’s a walk down memory lane. 1969 Zager and Evans from Wichita Falls Tx if I remember right. I’ll bet I listened to that on AM, probably KOMA out of Oklahoma City. I hadn’t thought of them in years. Thank you.

Our local radio station, Hippie Radio, plays it quite often. Great to hear it again. Yes, summer of 69.

We had free wifi outlets when we got an alarm system. They guy who installed the system had one in his kitchen and turned on the outlet with his app to start his coffee pot.

I love that I miss out on ALL of the coffee drama by just not participating. That's right, I don't drink coffee (ducks and covers).

You’re not alone, neither do I. I gave it up years ago because my stomach just can’t handle it.

I kind of enjoy my morning coffee making ritual. The idea of a smart coffee maker has never crossed my mind.

I ditched my Keurig for my Breville espresso maker and never looked back. I also enjoy all the little details associated with expressing a perfect shot and frothing the milk for my daily cappuccino.

Just wait until the next time alum foil goes on sale and buy enough to cover the house..............problem solved.

As an added bonus it allows me to take my alum hat off in the house.

We "upgraded" to a Kuerig a year ago or so and I'm going to hold the line there. There's something dangerously eerie about all of these inanimate objects being smarter than I am. I've seen the Terminator movies and I know what happens...

The Skynet Coffee maker by Cyberdyne Corp. It mines data from your app, and then becomes self-aware. It says, "Hasta La Vista" when you leave for work.
