I have two Anova machines, one will be covered under the ban the second is new enough to escape. I haven't used the app in years. Did at first for the novelty but soon decided I could manually adjust temp between beef, pork, veggie cooks faster on the device than through the app. I have been manual only with both cookers for years, I am in the group of "not even sure I have the app on my new phone"

In the FWIW (not much) Department, I've got an old WiFi+Bluetooth model, purchased in 2016. It's been great.
When it first arrived I connected it to the network and gave the app a try. It was interesting ... but not technically "useful".
After using it maybe twice via the app, I pretty much forgot about it (the app and WiFi connectivity) and just set whatever I needed manually on the circulator itself. Until a couple of months ago.
A couple of months ago, I upgraded to Gigabit internet and WiFi ... which of course required a much newer router and wireless access point ... so much newer that the old Anova simply cannot (or will not) connect. I must have tried at least once or twice (
) to get it working, but it just refused ... so I forgot about it (the app and WiFi connectivity) and went back to manual control ...
... It's been great.

Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex, SnS and a Smokey Joe. The most recent addition is a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, 2 ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. A Thermoworks RFX Gateway 2 probe meat thermometer.
The last time used according to the app history is April 14th. The app never impressed me. I'll do with monitoring the temp with the machine and I'll drop a probe and monitor with a thermometer. The ECHO that's 10 ft away will do as the timer. I'm good.

22” Blue Weber Kettle with SnS insert
Kamado Joe Jr with Kick Ash Basket
Char-Broil Smartchef Tru Infrared Gasser
Anovo Hot Tub Time Machine with Custom Hot Tub
Update: I did end up buying it. I was just going to let it ride, figuring they will probably make another offer, right? I go to use my current unit and the black casing/housing was cracked in two places! I never noticed. I only noticed this round because it just wouldn’t seat right on the waterbath container. $109 out the door with 4-6 day free shipping.

Thanks for MCS SheilaAnn Wasn't a sous vide owner, but saw this post, got a solid deal on Amazon and now a proud owner of a Precision 3.0. Now i'm looking for sous vide recipes...

Here's one for you!
Smoked Rainbow Trout
Walmart has fresh trout filets from Alabama very reasonably priced and nicely filetted (no bones!)
Sprinkle with Heath Riles Simply Citrus (or your favorite lemon pepper seasoning)
Arranged skin side down on a FrogMat and cooked on the pellet grill at 250 until done.
Optional dot with butter
Eat one filet and vacu-seal each of the others and freeze. Sous vide packet at 250 until suppertime. Open and enjoy, just as fresh as when cooked
