    Drip & Griddle question

For those who use it as a griddle, when you’re done, do you polish it back to shiny stainless? Or, is it supposed to eventually get "seasoned", like a regular griddle? My thought is to polish it; it does double duty, after all, as a drip pan, and any seasoning would have to be polished off when that was cleaned.

I use foil when drippin...clean it after griddlin, (but not ocd back to bare SS).

      I foil it too.

I just clean mine. It usually comes clean without much effort and has developed some very minor stains that I have made no effort to scrub.

this is in its natural habitat. It stays outdoors uncovered. I love mine!

I also foil when using it as a drip pan. I clean it as I would any griddle. Mine definitely is a bit stained.

I just clean mine like anything, no special seasoning nor shining. They do get some dingy brown areas from cooking and from the smoker but I can't be bothered with that.

Just got mine recently but I am not going to be fussy about cleaning it.

I use mine exclusively as a drip pan, uncovered, and clean it after every cook in which it catches drippings. I don't worry about "age marks" brought on by regular use. I've never used it as a griddle, as ABC warns about warping and I don't want to enter the danger zone unknowingly.

Mine warped the first time I used it as a griddle.

Wrapped in foil and used just as a drip pan. Maybe occasionally throw it in the dishwasher. It's currently pretty well stained.

I wipe my Blackstone with a rag, apply oil then heat it up until it smokes. Pretty much like I do with all of my cast iron griddles.
