I'm fortunate to have found this gem for about $15 at a yard sale. The end shelves fold down, it's metal, and easy to move as needed. Not a side shelf but it suits my needs.

While I'm sure that a heavy weight might deform the kettle a bit, I'm thinking more about the small gap that anything hooked over the kettle lip might create.
Built the table almost two years ago. Has been thru two central Ohio winters. Used pressure treated 2x4 lumber and two pieces of slate tile for the top. I do not move it because it probably weighs over 100 lbs
To test its durability I stood on top of the table once I placed it. I am one of the reason why labels had to change to "one size fits most" instead of "one size fits all".
