SnS in 22.5 WSM

Anybody use the SnS in the big WSM? I'm thinking I may try to do steak competition with top & bottom of WSM and SnS, leaving out the middle.

I see you have a Kettle. Isn't what you're suggesting basically the same as using the SnS in your kettle?

Exactly! But I don't really want to carry the kettle. Steak contest is Friday evening and BBQ contest is Saturday. If I can use the base of the WSM, it saves space! I'm going to test this Friday. I've got a new hitch carrier that fits the Gateway Drum and WSM, instead of dragging the big cooker!

CandySueQ Is the grate resting right on the SnS? You'll likely find flipping necessary, as the SnS routes more heat up & over vs under & up at the grate. GrillGrates across the whole surface would help by lifting the bottom of the meat up.

I'm going to call this a success! Next cook I'll try the PartyQ pushing air in. Definitely needed the Grill Grate as a buffer! But just set up this way it pegged the lid thermometer (above 350 degrees).
