    Smokenator

Smokenator products convert Weber kettle charcoal grills and standard gas grills into real food smokers – perfect for “Low and Slow” smoking on your grill.

Excuse if it has already been posted. First time I've seen it.

Don't waste your money. The Slow n Sear will dance circles around it.

I have had one for years - used it several times and gave up on it. It requires hourly tending, (or more), and doesn't work nearly as well as the SnS.

That's how I found this website. This article: http://amazingribs.com/tips_and_tech...ator_tips.html. Then I read about the Slow N Sear (SnS) but haven't purchased either ... yet. Hoping for an amazon gift card later this year to get a SnS + .

When finding something like this you haven't heard of before it pays to go to the AmazingRibs main site and search it. There is a chance that it will already have a review or a write up to give you more information about it.

In this case here is the one for the Smokenator.

And as the others have said.... The Slow'N'Sear is far superior.

Lol yeah... SnS definitely has a well earned cult following here.

I've bought and used the Smokenator, and just like others, gave up on it. the SnS is a far superior product.

I will say one positive thing about the Smokenator.... It is the first device that introduced me to the possibility of using my Kettle as a smoker. I bought one many moons ago, and that began my journey of making my own high quality BBQ.

For me it was the pioneering device that helped me discover all the things that were possible with my Kettle. Of course, it has since been surpassed by far superior options (I love my SnS, PBC, KBQ), but the it was the Smokenator that first infected me with MCS, and kept me hanging around this website.

So, while my Smokenator is long gone (well it might be in my garage somewhere, IDK), I am glad I bought it.

I'll admit I cam very close to buying one 2-3 years ago. But reading about and watching videos of it, I began to wonder what it really offered that a couple bricks and a water pan above didn't offer. So I just used that and had great success. I started thinking there needs to be a dual-functioning deep & wide water pan as the heat divider, not just thin sheet steel.... and, well, let's just say that idea worked..pretty well.
