    I'm tired of grates rusting...

I accidentally left a new grate, (used only once for high temp pizza), out and it got rained on. When I saw it a day or two later, it had already started to rust. So I started looking for a ss replacement for my Weber Performer. It seems that there is only one available. It's on both Etsy and ebay for the same price. Now if I have to pay $75 for it, I will, but I'm hoping someone here has found a cheaper solution. I do like this one because when I'm cooking pizza the temps go well past the 700* F limit of my thermometer and the 1/4" ss should hold up longer than the thinner stuff.

There's an SS grate on amazon offered by quality grill parts that is $40. Works great!

Just added to my Amazon "saved for later", which is usually not very later. My 22" grate is already rusting. Thank you.

fuzzydaddy - you should have thanked me. I'm the one who started the topic...

Correct on that RonB. My UPS deliveries have gone thru the roof lately. I'm in big trouble if my wife sees all the new shiny stuff.

RonB I've learned that Amazon's search function is very hit or miss. Any time you search for something you should try different criteria. I just had an example today where the keyboard I was looking at was listed as being only being available from external vendors, but a different search showed they really did carry it with Prime shipping to boot!

I searched in several different ways:

"Weber ss replacement grate for 22.5" grill"
"Replacement ss grate for Weber 22.5" grill"

These searches did not show the one Pit Boss found.

After posting this topic, I went back and searched again for a "replacement grate". That showed the one David found. I came back to say never mind, but David had already posted his reply.

At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

A lot of times if you search from a laptop or desktop computer you get different results than with a mobile. Or, you could just click the "Desktop version" links at the bottom of the pages.

Not sure if GrillGrates makes something to fit a Kettle, but GrillGrates are anodized aluminum. No rust possible. I love mine on my Weber gasser.

They have kits designed for the kettle, but they need a grate to sit on. When I was at the Steak Cookoff Association championship I noticed several Weber grills with GrillGrates sitting on rusted out plated grates. I told all those guys about the SS grates on Amazon.

Gotcha. The kettle doesn't have a place for the GG to rest on. Well, it ain't the first time my idea went down the toidy.

BTW, I am pondering on a 26 inch kettle, at which point another SnS willed also be required.

The 26" kettle is da bomb. Don't think long. Just do!
