Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. Sous Vide equipment.
SnS and Thermoworks instant read and leave-in thermometers.

Spices: Lots of 'em.
Mine is also in the mail and based on their estimated delivery days, I might have mine tomorrow, but I won't be near my kettle until next week. Poor poor me

Dave, David Parrish , it looks as though the dimensions of that SnS Grill Grate would also work with my 24 inch Weber Summit, but I'd like to know before ordering. Can you verify?
David Parrish But I only want one for one side of the grill for when I do reverse sear. I don't want the whole set all the way across the grill. I've got that already for my gasser. Plus there are no options on the GG site for a 24 inch kettle.

Hopefully the SNS doesn't melt the Grill Grates. As we saw in pictures yesterday, they can't take the EXTREME heat like Stainless or Cast. Not saying they aren't awesome for normal applications. I don't know if the SNS can get over 1000 F but the KJ I saw must have been because those GGs were toasted!!

Aluminum melts around 1221 F. There's no need to cook at that high of a temp. We recommend when using GGs that you don't fill the SnS basket all the way. A 2/3 basket of Kingsford blue bag will get your grates around 750 F to 850 F, which is perfect for searing steaks with GGs.
Actually spoke with Mr. Barrett about 2 weeks ago and got the head's up. Cartersville is right up the road from me and some day (soon ) I should make a road trip.
