As I've seem posted here discussion of temperatures reached using a Vortex. Allow me to share.
I've seen the lid thermometer peg while cooking with the Vortex. No question it was over 600°f. Made me wonder what temperature was reaching the wings I could hear sizzling.
I ordered a grate level oven thermometer Ignoring the warning on the box of high temperatures. I placed next to the wings the next time I cooked. After the first thirty minutes I went to turn the wings and note the temperature .
The dial was so cooked I grabbed it with the tongs, it was showing 550°+.
As you can see the difference between one that has been vortexed and a new one.
I'm convinced . Vortex is hot cooking.
