I have one of the first Slow n' Sear's for my 22" Performer.
My question, after 10+ years the "lighter side" has warped the water reservoir. Is the newer versions the same quality as the original?
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

The new ones are removable, you probably knew that though, so less exposure to heat when not needed. But yeah, they've warped even when we tested the early prototypes, thankfully it doesn't affect the performance one iota.

I would not worry about. I never filled it up with water anyway. I really do not think it makes any difference at all. The SNS for me, is really just so I can dump coals in the Kettle and keep them to one side without having to line them all up in a snake. The snake works just as well and I use a fire brick for a direct thermal block. It seems to make zero difference when I am cooking.
Just keep using what you have. No reason to spend money on pretty much the exact same product you already have. Just my .02.
